Women of St. Monica’s
All women are invited to dinner on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. A charge of $10 covers dinner and any program expense. Programs are varied, sometimes speakers from the wider community, sometimes a game night or special hands-on project. The Women of St. Monica’s support the parish and community in many ways.
Men of St. Monica’s
All men are invited to dinner on the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. These gatherings include a good dinner, good fellowship, and a program or discussion of interest to the members. The Men of St. Monica’s support the parish in many ways.
75+ Lunch Brunch
The first Wednesday of each month finds our parishioners who are at least 75 years old joining the Rector for lunch at 12:30 p.m. These delicious lunches are lovingly prepared by our Administrator and others. There is usually a theme (the Road Kill Café is still being talked about), with menu and decorations that complement. The Rector shares news of the parish, making an extra effort to keep these valued members up-to-date on what’s happening at St. Monica’s.
Groups of 8-10 people gather once a month for dinner and fellowship. These groups rotate among members’ homes or dine at a restaurant. Sign up is in October, groups are formed and begin meeting in November. Snowbirds join a group when they arrive in Naples.
A Night in Olde Napoli
An Italian-themed dinner, delicious appetizers, silent, live and Chinese auctions, entertainment, and lots of laughter and fun are the components of A Night in Olde Napoli. Held on a Friday night in late January, this event raises money for parish ministries and outreach activities. A committee begins planning in the fall. Members are asked to donate new, unique items for the auctions.
St. Monica’s kicks off the new program year on the last weekend of August. That’s when Sunday School begins and classes and programs restart after the summer break. The dinner is held on the Saturday night at 6 p.m. (after the 5 p.m. service). Delicious food and great company highlight this fun time at St. Monica’s. Planning begins in the late spring.
Church at the Beach
Once a year, on the Sunday after Easter, St. Monica’s family worship is celebrated at the beach. After the worship service, we enjoy a wonderful picnic lunch, with hot dogs and hamburgers, condiments, beverages, and paper products provided by St. Monica’s. Everyone is invited to bring a dish to share. A team shops, sets up, and grills. Volunteers are always welcome.
