Service (Local Mission) Commission

Commission Chair: Ligia Rodriguez

For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,  I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’   Matthew 25:42-43

HOW WE SERVE:

  • We evaluate the spiritual, physical, emotional, and relational needs of our local neighbors
  • We develop and organize teams of parishioners for local mission efforts.
  • We serve in existing “local mission” projects.
  • We develop teams for new local mission through emerging ministry opportunities in our local neighborhoods.

Additionally, the congregation of St. Monica’s collects underwear, socks and school supplies for the students.

We also hosted a dedication ceremony and reception for new Habitat homeowners.

St. Matthews Soup Ministry   Tom Hughes

Their mission is to provide housing for the homeless, food for the needy, and an opportunity to change lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined.
