Dear Friends,
Last weekend, many of us gathered in the Parish Hall after services. We had rich discussions about where we see the Spirit among us at St. Monica’s and what our deepest longings are for the future of our parish. We will have one more of these conversations after the Eucharist on Sunday, January 29 in the Parish Hall.
To make plans for ministry for this year, your pledge to support St. Monica’s financially helps us. If you have not pledged before, I invite you to see what it is like – you may notice a difference in how we do ministry together. And no matter what the pledge, I promise you it makes a difference here, and it will be deeply appreciated.
I’d like to take a moment to consider how we receive communion. This weekend, we will make a small change while receiving the Holy Communion that I will explain before the services. This will be to conform better with the diocesan standards, and it will be much simpler than our current practice.
This Saturday morning at 8:30am we will be spreading mulch – so, come and join us!
On Sunday, February 5 after the service, we will have our Annual Meeting to approve the budget and new vestry members. All are welcome and all members in good standing may vote.
Finally, I want to express how happy I am to serve as your rector. It is a privilege and a joy. I look forward to how the Spirit shows up here in the coming year!
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Jonathan Evans
