Rector Search 2026

The search for a new Rector is a prayerful and thoughtful process guided by the Diocese and led by our Rector Search Committee. The committee is responsible for gathering parish input, preparing our parish profile, reviewing applicants, and discerning the priest God is calling to serve St. Monica’s.


The process generally includes:


  • Listening to the parish and gathering feedback
  • Preparing the parish profile
  • Receiving clergy applications through the Episcopal Church Office for Transition Ministry
  • Prayerful discernment and interviews
  • Recommending a candidate to the Vestry

Updates from the Search Committee

2025 April 1

St. Monica’s was informed that our Rector would be departing, and initial preparations began for the search for our next Rector.

2026 March 1

During our Parish Annual Meeting, the congregation was informed that the Rector search process had officially begun. The Parish Profile and OTM portfolio have been approved by the Diocese, and the position has been posted.

2026 April 1

The Rector Search Committee continues to meet regularly and remains actively engaged in the search process. We are grateful for their ongoing dedication and ask for your continued prayers as this important work moves forward.

2026 June 15

The search for our next Rector has been placed on pause until further notice. During this time, the Vestry will reflect on the process and determine the best path forward before beginning a new search.


An email with additional details has been sent to the congregation today. We remain grateful for the dedication and for the continued leadership of Rev. Sylvia and Deacon Ken during this transition.
